Wings of Fire by APJ Abdul Kalam
‘Wings of Fire’ is an autobiography written by the visionary physicist Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who became the President of India from extremely lowly beginnings. The book is jam-packed with Dr. Kalam’s life experiences, candid moments, and thoughts. It helps us comprehend his successful journey. Because Dr. Kalam firmly believed that every person was born with the strength and potential to actually make a difference in the world, he uses his life story to encourage the reader to connect with their own inner fire and potential. The book does a good job of capturing how he motivated himself to pursue his goals and how he went about accomplishing so much.
Numerous tales and anecdotes from his early years, education, and college are collected in this book. There is a lot of focus on time spent at NASA, the Wallops Flight Facility, and the Langley Research Center. Not one personal tragedy has been overlooked. His father’s passing and his feelings upon receiving numerous honors, including the Padma Bhushan, have been well documented. The physicist Dr. Kalam, who made a major contribution to the country’s guided missile program—a ground-breaking endeavor for national security—is the subject of the second half of the book.
