Steps to Obtain UDISE Code for 2024
Every school in the country will receive a unique UDISE code. When a new school opens, it has to obtain a UDISE code to have a unique identity in the UDISE+ records. Here are the steps schools must follow:
- The school user should visit the district MIS officer with the necessary documents, especially the recognition letter of the school. This applies to both recognized and unrecognized schools.
- District MIS users will apply for the UDISE code through the “School Directory Management” in the UDISE+ system. The request will then flow to the state MIS user for approval.
- State MIS users will check the application and may ask for further clarification at the district level. They have the final say on approving the generation of the UDISE code for the school.
- Once the state MIS verifies everything, they will send the application to the Ministry of Education for the UDISE code generation.
- The process of generating the UDISE code usually takes about a week to complete.
