Procedure for Applying Form 30: To Transfer Vehicle Ownership
- Obtain the Form: You can typically obtain Form 30 from the Regional Transport Office (RTO) or download it from the official website of the State Transport Department. Ensure you have the latest version of the form.
- Fill in the Details: Both the seller (transferor) and the buyer (transferee) need to fill in the required details in the form accurately. These details usually include:
- Vehicle details: Registration number, chassis number, engine number, etc.
- Details of the seller: Name, address, contact information, etc.
- Details of the buyer: Name, address, contact information, etc.
- Details of the vehicle transfer: Date of transfer, consideration amount (if any), etc.
- Attach Required Documents: Along with Form 30, you’ll need to attach certain documents. These documents typically include:
- Original Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
- Valid insurance certificate.
- Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate.
- Identity proof of both the seller and the buyer (e.g., Aadhar card, PAN card, etc.).
- Address proof of both the seller and the buyer.
- Form 29 (notice of transfer of ownership of a motor vehicle).
- Submission: Once the form is filled and all necessary documents are attached, submit the application to the respective RTO office where the vehicle is registered.
- Payment of Fees: There might be a nominal fee associated with the transfer of ownership, which needs to be paid along with the application. The fee amount can vary depending on the state and the type of vehicle.
- Verification and Approval: After the submission, the RTO will verify the documents and process the transfer request. Once approved, they will update their records, and a new Registration Certificate (RC) will be issued in the name of the buyer.
