Pondicherry (Puducherry) Liquor Price List 2024

The Pondicherry (Puducherry) liquor price list for 2024 shows the recent changes in excise duty rates. This has been done to align the prices with those of nearby states and to control the movement of drinkers from neighboring districts. Consequently, the price of 154 out of the 920 liquor brands available in Puducherry, which can also be found in Tamil Nadu, has been increased to close the price gap. Additionally, a 25 percent tax has been added to the remaining brands.

Current Liquor Regulations and Changes

Recently, the Puducherry State Executive Committee announced an extension of the lockdown until June 14, starting from midnight on June 7. Therefore, different types of liquor shops—including FL.1, FL.2, Arrack, and Toddy shops—except for Bars and FL.2 Tourism Category licenses, are allowed to operate from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM during this period, effective from June 8 to June 14, 2022 (midnight).
