Manache Shlok is a powerful spiritual text that holds great significance in Indian devotion. Written by the revered saint Samarth Ramdas, this devotional scripture continues to inspire many. Samarth Ramdas, a notable 17th-century saint from Maharashtra, is also famous for his Advaita Vedanta (Non-dualism) work Dasbodh. He was a devoted follower of Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama, showing deep love and respect through his writings. The birth name of Samartha Ramdas Swami was Narayan Suryaji Thosar.
Life and Legacy of Samarth Ramdas
Born on Ramnavmi during the month of Chaitra in 1530 (Shalivahana era), 1608 CE, Samarth Ramdas hailed from the Jamb village located in Ambad Taluka of Aurangabad District. He was born on the banks of the sacred river Godavari. His parents, Suryaji Pant and Ranubai, ensured that he was raised in a family devoted to worshiping the Sun (Surya) and Lord Ram. He had an elder brother named Gangadhar.
