The Government of Assam has announced the new scheme “Lakhpati Baideo” to empower 40 lakh self-help group (SHG) workers, aiming to transform them into rural micro-entrepreneurs.Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled this bold plan, which will provide ₹35,000 in financial aid to each of the 40 lakh women, with the ultimate goal of increasing their yearly income to ₹1 lakh.

Eligibility Criteria for Lakjpati Baideo Scheme Assam
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of Assam as the scheme is exclusively designed for women in Assam.
- Bank Account: Female applicants must have a valid bank account.
- Family Size: Women applying should have no more than two children.
- Membership: Those who are members of self-help groups are eligible to benefit from this program.
- Documentation: Female applicants must possess the necessary documentation to apply. Previous participation in any other business loan scheme is not permissible.
