The total budget of about ₹2,23,658.17 crore focuses on the welfare of farmers, youth, and especially the empowerment of women. During his budget speech, which lasted around 3 hours and 10 minutes, several important initiatives were announced to improve women’s safety, health, employment opportunities, and financial support. Let’s take a look at the key announcements made for women in the Haryana Budget 2026–27.

Highlights of Haryana Budget 2026–27 for Women

  • Expansion of Lado Lakshmi Yojana: Under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, the annual income eligibility limit will be increased from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.80 lakh starting from 25 September 2026. Eligible women will continue to receive ₹2,100 per month as financial support. The government has allocated ₹6,500 crore for this scheme, which is higher than last year’s allocation of ₹5,000 crore.
  • 7 New Women Police Stations: To strengthen women’s safety, the government will establish seven new women police stations in Loharu, Barwala, Narwana, Samalkha, Meham, Radaur, and Pehowa. In addition, three new cyber crime police stations will be set up in Sonipat, Gohana, and Bahadurgarh.
  • Women Commandos in ATS: An Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) will be formed to tackle terrorism and security threats, with a budget allocation of ₹35 crore. Women commandos will also be included in this special force.
  • Tax Relief on Vehicle Purchase: Women who purchase vehicles in their own name will receive a 1% discount on motor vehicle tax. The government also plans to further strengthen the existing 20% tax exemption on electric vehicles to promote eco-friendly transport and reduce pollution.
  • 20% Reservation in Vita Booths: The government has announced the opening of 2,000 new Vita booths. Women associated with Self Help Groups (SHGs) will be given priority, and 20% reservation will be ensured for them. This initiative is expected to create more self-employment opportunities for women.
  • “Har Naari, Swasth Naari” Initiative: The government will establish “Swasth Naari Clinics” in every district to improve women’s health services. Additionally, each Gram Sabha will hold at least three mandatory meetings every year to discuss important issues such as development, de-addiction, drinking water, sanitation, and waste management.
  • Nari Mandapam and Vatsalya Bhavan: A grand “Nari Mandapam” will be built in Gurugram to promote women’s skill development, training, and recognition of their achievements. In addition, “Vatsalya Bhavans” will be set up in Ambala, Yamunanagar, Rohtak, and Gurugram. These centers will work as a single-window platform to provide various services related to women and child development.

The government believes that these initiatives will help strengthen women empowerment, safety, healthcare, and employment opportunities in the state. Overall, the provisions announced in the budget are seen as an important step toward making Haryana stronger both socially and economically.
