Electoral Bonds Judgement
The Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud’s rebuke of Supreme Court Bar Association President Advocate Adish Aggarwala for his petition seeking suo motu review in the Electoral Bonds case ruling, the Supreme Court’s hearing on the case took a dramatic turn on 25th March 2024.
The State Bank of India was questioned by the Supreme Court about why it had not completely released the electoral bond numbers, therefore a reply was requested from the bank during the hearing. The five judges on the bench included Chief Justice Chandrachud, along with Justices BR Gavai, JB Pardiwala, Sanjiv Khanna, and Manoj Mishra.
