Civil Defence Application Form
Civil Defence measures are crucial for managing immediate emergency situations, safeguarding the public, and restoring essential services that may be disrupted due to disasters. This includes both natural calamities and man-made incidents that can significantly endanger the lives and welfare of citizens, as well as wreak havoc on the environment and natural resources of the Republic.
Understanding Civil Defence: Key Responsibilities
The primary goal of Civil Defence is to implement effective responses to emergencies and disasters. These measures aim to minimize risks to citizens and protect the environment from further damage. Engaging with Civil Defence not only empowers communities but also fosters a spirit of collaboration and resilience during tough times.
Eligibility Criteria for Civil Defence Form
The applicant is entitled to enrollment as a Civil Defence Volunteer if:
- He/she is a citizen of India, or a subject of Bhutan or Nepal.
- Has completed the age of 18 years, with a possible age relaxation of up to 3 years decided by the competent authority for any branch or category of the Corps.
- Must have passed at least the primary standard (up to the fourth class), with the controller having discretion for relaxation.
- Both men and women are eligible for appointment to the Corps.
- NOC from the employer is required if the applicant is currently employed.
- The individual must be physically fit and mentally alert.
- Members of the following forces or services are typically not eligible for enrollment in a civil defence corps:
- Armed Forces of the Union.
- Police Force.
- Fire Services.
- Territorial Army or Auxiliary Forces of the Defence Services.
- Civilian personnel associated with the Armed Forces of the Union.
These regulations do not apply to government servants who are specifically appointed for full-time or part-time civil defence duties by the heads of the respective organizations.
Documents Required
Identity of Applicants: Aadhar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Passport, Ration Card with Photo, Driving License, or any Government-recognized document.
Proof of Address: Aadhaar Card, Passport, Bank Passbook, Telephone Bill (Landline or Postpaid), Voter ID Card, Ration Card, Electricity Bill, Gas Bill, Driving License, Rent Agreement (Registered), Water Bill, or any Government-recognized document.
Education Qualification: Police verification report (if completed), and self-declaration as per Serial No. 36 of the Application for enrollment in Civil Defence.
One Passport-sized Photograph
Self-attested copies of original documents must be submitted at the Citizen Service Centre (CSC). For online applications, documents should be uploaded in the e-District application software. Some documents may require physical verification at the counter, even for online submissions.
The applicant or a family member should be present at the CSC for a photograph or must submit his/her photograph. For online applications, the applicant must upload his/her photograph.
A scanned copy of the self-declaration should be uploaded while applying online, and a hard copy of the declaration must be submitted to the concerned SDM/Tehsildar/CSC either in person or via speed post/registered post along with the Application Acknowledgement number.
