Understanding the Child Care Leave (CCL) Form
Women Government Employees with minor children (up to 18 years of age) can be granted CCL for a maximum duration of two years (i.e., 730 days) throughout their service. This leave is essential for taking care of two minor children, whether it is for nurturing them or addressing their needs such as education, health issues, etc.
Child Care Leave (CCL) Form – Conditions
- A child’s health and education are the primary reasons for applying for CCL.
- This leave facility is available until the child turns 18 years of age, and it should be carefully planned over the years until the first two children reach this age. It’s essential to be present with the child when they really need you.
- Applications for CCL must be submitted at least 15 days before the leave is needed.
- CCL is not a right; it is provided to support women employees in caring for their children during critical times such as nurturing, examinations, or sickness without compromising office functioning.
- No employee can take CCL without prior approval from the competent authority.
- CCL can be granted for a maximum of three spells in a calendar year.
- Ordinarily, CCL will not be approved during the probation period unless there are compelling reasons, and the leave sanctioning authority is fully convinced of the necessity.
- Any type of previously approved leave or unauthorized absence cannot be converted into CCL after the fact.
