War And Peace Book
War and Peace is a novel by the Russian author Leo Tolstoy, published serially, then in its entirety in 1869. It is regarded as one of Tolstoy’s finest literary achievements. The story chronicles the lives of various noble families as they negotiate the turbulent political and social climate of early 19th-century Russia during the Napoleonic Wars.
The primary characters are Prince Andrei Bolkonsky, a disillusioned nobleman who seeks glory on the battlefield but ultimately finds comfort in the simple joys of family life; Pierre Bezukhov, a socially awkward but kind-hearted young man who inherits a vast fortune and struggles to find his purpose in life; and Natasha Rostova, a spirited and impulsive young woman who experiences the ups and downs of love and loss.
