The book “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” presents readers with Harry Potter, a young orphan who lives with his uncaring aunt, uncle, and cousin. Harry discovers he is a wizard on his eleventh birthday when he gets a letter inviting him to enroll in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry makes friends with Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley at Hogwarts, and the three of them work together to solve the mystery surrounding the theft of the Sorcerer’s Stone—an item that can bestow one’s immortality.
They initially believe it to be Professor Snape, but they later find out that Professor Quirrell, the Defense Against the Dark Arts instructor, is the one trying to get the stone for Voldemort, the evil wizard. Harry confronts Quirrell and stops Voldemort from getting the stone with the aid of Hogwarts headmaster Dumbledore.
