Stations of The Cross

Stations of The Cross PDF is a meaningful spiritual guide that should be read every Saturday morning during Lent at 9:30 AM. During this time, the Way of the Cross will be celebrated in Church before the 10 AM Mass, with a distinct theme each week. The fourteenth stations include:

1. Jesus is condemned to death
2. He is made to bear his cross
3. He falls for the first time
4. He meets his mother
5. Simon of Cyrene is made to bear the cross
6. Veronica wipes Jesus’ face
7. He falls for the second time
8. The women of Jerusalem weep over Jesus
9. He falls for the third time
10. He is stripped of his garments
11. He is nailed to the cross
12. He dies on the cross
13. He is taken down from the cross
14. He is placed in the sepulchre

This important devotional practice of visiting and praying at each of the 14 stations is inspired by early Christian pilgrims who traveled to Jerusalem. They followed the traditional route from Pilate’s house to Calvary, reflecting on the trials faced by Jesus.

Reflections on the Stations of The Cross

Jesus is Sentenced to Death

Jesus is sentenced to death

We adore you O Christ and we praise you; because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

Jesus, bound hand and foot with a crown of thorns and dressed in a purple robe, was brought before Pilate. The crowd shouted: “Crucify him, crucify him!” But behind these words lay a deep disillusionment. “We thought he would save us from the Romans.” They wanted a powerful hero, not one who sought love and healing for everyone.

And us, where do we stand today? Are we close to those who suffer from illness, humiliation, violence, and poverty in our world?

Prayer: Jesus, gentle and humble of heart, king of hearts, grant us your heart, devoted to the Father. Help us to embrace everyone without judgment, especially those who are different or feel like outsiders.

I love You, Jesus, my love above all things. I sincerely repent for having offended You. Please help me stay close to You always. May I love You in all I do, and then do with me as You wish.
