Cognitive Distortions Scale (CDS)
The Cognitive Distortions Scale (CDS) is a questionnaire that measures how often people engage in cognitive distortions. It can help identify unhealthy thought patterns that may contribute to negative behaviors and emotions.
How it works
- The CDS is a self-report survey that asks people to rate how often they experience specific cognitive distortions.
- The CDS can be used to assess cognitive distortions in both personal and interpersonal contexts.
- The CDS can help identify cognitive distortions that may be contributing to negative emotions and behaviors.
The Cognitive Distortions Scale was developed to assess thinking errors using case examples in two domains: interpersonal and personal achievement. Although its validity and reliability has been previously demonstrated in non-clinical samples, its psychometric properties and scoring has not yet been evaluated. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Cognitive Distortions Scale in two Turkish samples and to examine the usefulness of the categorical scoring system
