The Government of West Bengal has introduced the Samajik Suraksha Yojana (SSY) to provide essential support and cover for all workers in the unorganized sector. This initiative aims to protect the fundamental rights of these workers at their workplaces.

Overview of Samajik Suraksha Yojana (SSY)

As of 1st April 2020, the state government has waived the monthly beneficiary contribution of Rs 25/- for the provident fund. Instead, the government will contribute this amount on behalf of the beneficiaries. This change has led to the scheme being renamed to Bina Mulya Samajik Suraksha Yojana (BM-SSY). Under this scheme, every enrolled beneficiary can enjoy all benefits without spending any money.

Benefits of Samajik Suraksha Yojana

  • The provident fund provides financial security and stability for unorganized workers.

  • The government offers financial assistance to the children of beneficiaries pursuing higher studies (for those registered for at least one year). It also provides training in safety and skill development.

Eligibility Criteria for SSY Form

  1. The applicant must be a resident of West Bengal.
  2. The applicant must be between 18-60 years of age.
  3. The family’s total income should not exceed Rs.6500/- per month, except for construction and transport workers (for them, there is no upper income limit).

How to Apply for the Samajik Suraksha Yojana Form

To apply, applicants can obtain the application form from the official website at https://bmssy.wblabour.gov.in/ or directly download it from the link provided at the bottom of this page.

After filling out the form carefully, attach the necessary documents and submit them to the relevant authority in the department.

Steps for Online Application for Samajik Suraksha Yojana

Step 1: Visit the official portal https://bmssy.wblabour.gov.in/ to apply online for the Samajik Suraksha Yojana.

Step 2: On the homepage, click the “New Registration” button. A new window will open where you need to provide the beneficiary details, as shown in the image below.

Step 3: After filling in the personal details of the beneficiary, nominee details, bank details, and other required information, click the Register button. Your registration will be complete. Be sure to save the final receipt you receive after submitting the online application form successfully.

When applying for the social security scheme, make sure to attach the following documents to your application form:
