Steps to Apply for a New Connection Online
- Application Form (Procedure A) can be obtained for just Rs 5 from your nearby WBSEDCL Customer Care Center.
- You can also download Application Form (Procedure A) for free from the WBSEDCL website (www.wbsedcl.in).
Documents Needed for WBSEDCL New Connection
- Once you collect the form, fill it out and submit it along with these documents at the relevant Customer Care Center:
- One passport-size photograph
- A proof of your occupation/ownership such as a Passport, Voter ID, Rent Bill, Telephone Bill, or Tax Receipt from Panchayat/Municipality, etc.
- All submitted documents will be checked by the concerned Customer Care Center, and you will receive a Quotation for the Service Connection Charge and Security Deposit.
- You must pay the Service Connection Charge and Security Deposit at the Customer Care Center within 90 days of receiving the quotation.
- Alternatively, you can also pay the service connection charge and security deposit online through the WBSEDCL website or Mobile App.
Checking Technical Feasibility

- After you pay the quotation amount, a WBSEDCL representative will inspect your premises within 3 days to check:
- If there is an existing connection (either active or disconnected), and if the new premises are separate from the old one in terms of electrical wiring.
- If there are any outstanding dues against the old connection.
- If the current system can handle the power loads you need.
- If any maintenance is required on the existing system.
- If there are any Way Leave issues.
- If you have completed your responsibilities, such as preparing the premises, installing the main switch, setting up earthing, and finishing the wiring.
- After you pay the quotation amount, a WBSEDCL representative will inspect your premises within 3 days to check:

Establishing Service Connection
Once you have completed all necessary formalities, WBSEDCL will arrange the service connection within 7 days.
